Officer Training and Credentialing

University Health Public Safety Officers are non-sworn officers that provide safety and security services to the University Health System. Most staff positions are armed and certified by the National Law Enforcement Training Center. They are licensed Private Officers through the Kansas City Missouri Police Department and have the power to arrest on University Health property. Officers complete 80 hours of classroom training and 240 hours of on-the-job training with a Field Training Officer.
