Healthy aging is the goal

Patricio Marcos Gonzalez, MDUniversity Health internal medicine physician Patricio Marcos, MD, is as passionate about helping patients stay healthy as he is about soccer – known as football in his native Mexico.

Dr. Marcos wants his aging patients to be able to keep doing the things they enjoy. His tips for maintaining good health include yearly check-ups, regular screenings, a nutrient-rich diet and exercise.

If you dread the idea of walking on a treadmill or going to a gym, you’re not alone. Dr. Marcos said that’s where group sports and activities can really help.

“Sometimes having fun and spending time with friends is the best way to keep yourself healthy,”
said Dr. Marcos.

The health benefits of finding a physical group activity you enjoy may include:

  • Building social connections that battle loneliness
  • Improving cardiovascular health
  • Increasing muscle and bone density
  • Keeping a sharp memory and focus

Dr. Marcos is one of many primary care physicians accepting new patients.
