Tick Troubles
Warm weather may have many of you itching to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors. But also lurking outside is a tiny critter that can latch onto your skin and have you reaching for a pair of tweezers to remove it.
A tick can attach quickly, exposing you to a number of tick-borne illnesses.
One is called alpha-gal syndrome, which can cause an allergic reaction to red meat and dairy products.
Our tick-illness expert, University Health nurse practitioner Wesley Strouts, recently appeared on My KC Live to explain the risks ticks pose and when to seek treatment.
